The Place

FOXEN

Completed in 2009, our solar-powered tasting room and winery is the embodiment of Dick & Bill's long-time dream and hard work. This tasting room, where we showcase our Burgundian and Rhône-style wines, was built in a rustic and simple ranch-style in keeping with the historic buildings of Rancho Tinaquaic. Our buildings are surrounding by native plant landscaping, maintained by a minimal amount of irrigation - helping to protect one of our most precious resources, water; and situated next to the lower block of our estate vineyard, planted in 2008.

foxen 7200

Built in the 1860s, the original purpose of our beloved "Shack" was as a blacksmith shop for Rancho Tinaquaic. In 1987 it became Dick & Bill's original tasting room, when FOXEN was open only on weekends and either Dick or Bill were behind the bar. With the opening of our solar-powered winery and tasting room in 2009, we renamed this rustic building foxen 7200, where we now focus on our Bordeaux and Italian-style wines.

The Clubhouse

The barn located behind the foxen 7200 was the first winemaking facility and barrel room for FOXEN. Like the "Shack", it was built in the 1860s and was used as a stable for horses. We have recently transformed the old saddle room into Bill & Dick's Most Excellent Clubhouse, where our wine club members can taste current shipment wines and groups up to 30 people can enjoy a tasting together. This rustic space houses a private bar, lounge seating, and historic photos of the ranch and its original inhabitants.
