2017 Syrah, Tinaquaic Vineyard - Old Vines
Santa Maria Valley

"From the same site but older vines, the 2017 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard Old Vines - Dry Farmed reveals a similar dense purple color as well as a smokier, more gamey vibe in its ripe plum, blackberry, peppered game, smoke, and chocolatey aromas and flavors. It's a rich, meaty, full-bodied Syrah with a stacked mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a very different wine compared to the normal release, with more depth and richness, and should be longer lived as well." - JebDunnuck.com, 95 Points
"The 2017 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard Old Vines - Dry Farmed, from vines planted in 1989 at the top of the canyon, is wonderfully nuanced and complex, with more aromatic layers than the straight Tinaquaic Syrah tasted alongside it. A whole range of floral and savory overtones develop as this hugely promising wine opens up with a bit of air. I tasted the 2017 from tank just prior to bottling." - Vinous, 92 - 95 Points
